Hastings Direct gave A Helping Hand to the Newmarket Day Centre donating £400 to help support the centre's Christmas celebrations.
Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,800 staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.
The Newmarket Day Centre is a successful independent community resource working with retired and frail older people to enable them to have and enjoy a better quality of life by providing food, fun and friendship. The venue boasts a 'drop-in' cafeteria service, comprehensive day care provision, hairdressing salon, licensed bar, hand and nail care salon, chiropody room, fully equipped specialised bath and shower room and operates a comprehensive and varied entertainment and activity programme.
Elvis McMinn, general manager, Newmarket Day Centre: "Thanks to Hastings Direct's support we were able to host a week of Christmas celebrations for our staff and clients, using their donation for table decorations and entertainment."
Hastings Direct is currently appealing for potential charity partners for 2015. Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct: "We are appealing to local charities which may need some financial assistance or physical support to get in touch as we may be able to help.
"Charities must be officially registered, local to our Newmarket office and be a charity we can make a real difference too. If you know of charity that may need some extra support please let us know via email atcommunity@hastingsdirect.com with its details and how we may be able to assist."
