Hastings Direct has just given A Helping Hand to two national charities when its staff participated in a charity football tournament and donated £500 to play.

Hastings Direct joined 29 other local companies to field a five a side team in a tournament hosted by the KPMG Gatwick office. Each team donated at least £100 to play and as a result £3,500 was donated to two national charities: Shelter and Action for Literacy

Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,700+ staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.

The tournament was fast and furious with just six minute matches and Family Mosaic were triumphant on the day!

Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct: "We had a lot of fun on the day but the real winners were these two great charities."
