Hastings Direct — the biggest employer in Bexhill — is the lead sponsor of this year's Bexhill Carnival which finishes this Saturday July 26th with the traditional Carnival Procession.
Just before this year's events wrap up, there is still the monster Party in the Park on Friday night kicking off at 7p.m. Everyone is welcome to bring along their own picnic (no glass bottles) and chairs to The Polegrove to see the live tribute bands perform — The Jersey Boys, Shawaddywaddy 2, 1066 Rockit — before the grand finale fireworks at 9.45p.m. All monies raised on the night will support the charity Entertainment Workshop.
Local residents should be award of rolling road closures for Saturday's Carnival Procession which begins at 1p.m. from Turkey Road finishing at The Polegrove at around 3.30p.m where there is free entry to the fun fair, side shows and stalls and performances from Sama Karate and Dymond Dance. Turkey Road will be closed from 10am on Saturday morning except for floats.
Nim Whitmarsh, Bexhill Carnival Chairman: 'We are looking forward to another great procession, and even though addition work has been required this year, we are confident it will be another great weekend for Bexhill. The weather forecast looks good so we encourage the community of Bexhill to come out and support us.'
Gary Hoffman, CEO, Hastings Direct: 'We are delighted to be sponsoring the Bexhill Carnival once again — it's a real highlight in the Bexhill calendar. We are looking forward to seeing the crowds from our float this Saturday and for everyone's sakes — including our own — have been crossing our fingers en masse to help ensure we avoid another annual soaking!"
