Local lass Hollie Young, aged 11, asked Bexhill's largest employer, Hastings Direct, for A Helping Hand (£250) to help her finance being able to continue playing in the Under 11s cricket squad for Sussex. Now thanks to her supporters, Hollie has successfully completed all the trials and has secured her place in the Sussex under 12s squad for 2015.

Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,800 staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.

Proud father Martin commented: "We are tremendously proud of Hollie's talent, dedication and hard work and grateful for the support of companies like Hastings Direct as their continued support is helping Hollie to pursue her dreams whilst championing her county."
