Hastings Direct gave A Helping Hand in support of the Netherfield Church of England Primary School's raffle to help raise much needed funds for new computer software.

Hastings Direct's A Helping Hand makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community. Each month Hastings is able to offer either professional support from its 1,800 staff, or physical support with team building days. In addition, Hastings has made a small monthly grant available to support local funding.

The computer curriculum requires children to programme in greater detail. Thanks to the support of Hastings Direct, Netherfield School in Battle raised a substantial amount through its raffle, enabling the school to purchase two new software programmes: The Zu3D stop-motion animation software gives the children the freedom to create amazing animated films quickly and easily; whilst the LEGO® Wedo is simple-to-use cross-curricular tool that enables students to learn, construct and then bring their models to life using intuitive drag-and-drop software.

Jay Wootten, community liaison, Hastings Direct: "Thanks to the parents and supporters of the school, Netherfield's PTFA (parents, teachers and friends' association) has ingeniously been able to leverage our small donation into a substantial gift for the school, improving the everyday lives and education of its students."
