Hastings Direct donate lifesaving defibrillator to local community

Local business Hastings Direct has unveiled a new defibrillator providing potentially lifesaving assistance to the local community.

Originally situated within the Conquest House offices, colleagues of the general insurance provider suggested that the defibrillator would be better located where not only employees could benefit but also the local community and anyone who may be in need when in the area.

Interested to hear about the valuable addition, Cllr Deirdre Earl-Williams and Cllr Doug Oliver visited the Hastings Direct head office for a tour of the business, to meet colleagues and to hear about the community and wellbeing work the company provides locally and to its colleagues.

Speaking about their visit the Independent councillors for Collington Ward outlined that they were impressed with the career progression and growth Hastings Direct offers to colleagues as well as the employment they bring to the area.

Cllr Doug Oliver said; “The installation of the new community defibrillator is another example of the commitment the biggest employer in Bexhill / Rother has to support the local community in so many varied ways. Hastings Direct not only provides hundreds of jobs for Bexhill residents but their culture of continued involvement benefits many local charitable & community events.”
