Staff from Hastings Direct celebrated raising £8,450 for local charity, Education Futures Trust at a glitzy awards ceremony this week at Bannatynes Hotel, Hastings. The awards ceremony was supported by many local and insurance business partners: 1066jobs.com, Arc, Axa, Born Ready Fitness, Carpenters, Defaqto, Direct Group, FARG, Firmballs, Flowers for Friends, HPI, Identity, NSG, Sterling, Towergate, Yodel Mobile and AXA Inter partner Assistance.
Hastings Direct staff took part in a series of departmental battles in their Summer of Sport to raise money for the Education Futures Trust — a local charity working in and around Hastings to help children escape poverty and overcome the barriers that they face in their lives.
Departments faced each other on the cricket field, football pitch, rounders field, athletics track and even in a tug of war! The awards ceremony honoured the best of the best — naming department and individual sports team and person of the summer.

Michael Hinton, Summer of Sport organiser: "A huge thank you to our sponsors and to everyone who has participated — this is one of the most successful fundraisers in our history. By bringing colleagues across the company together taking part in sports and activities as a way of raising money, we've really made a difference to a worthy charity, and had good fun along the way!"
Carole Dixon, Chief Executive, Education Futures Trust: "I can't thank Michael's team enough for their contributions throughout the summer. Hastings Direct's Summer of Sport will make a huge difference to the opportunities that we can offer to our children and families. We will be able to extend our outdoor learning, as well as offering counselling and therapies to some of our most needy young people. Thank you."
